Whilst reading The Swan Gondola by Timothy Schaffert I discovered something that I tend to do naturally, so much so that I never really think about it – I choose book music to read by. This is not music about or inspired by books – I think The Bookshopband have that one all wrapped up – it is music to read by.
Here are some of my personal choices, please give it a try and tell me what you think. I know I’m not the only person who does this:
The Swan Gondola by Timothy Schaffert – Water for Elephants by James Newton Howard
At The Water’s Edge by Sara Gruen – Brave soundtrack by Patrick Doyle
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – Edward Scissorhands by Danny Elfman
Wuthering Heights by Charlotte Bronte – Sherlock Holmes by Hans Zimmer
The Ballroom by Anna Hope – Stardust by Ilan Eshkeri
London Belles by Annie Groves – We’ll meet again by various artists
Miracle on Regent Street by Ali Harris – Kylie Christmas by Kylie Minogue
The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen – Sweet Home Alabama soundtrack by various artists
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald – I’m Breathless by Madonna
